My Grandmothers Quilt

This quilt was made by my Grandmother.

It has soft pretty colors.  Exactly what I like.

The flowers are hand appliqued onto the squares.

And black embroidery floss was Blanket Stitched all around each petal.  The embroidery in black makes the flowers pop out.  With such pale fabric, they needed the accent.

I remember my Grandmother sewing all the time but  I don't recall ever seeing her quilt.

Textiles from our past influence us today.
